 1. What/who influenced your decision in choosing BSc (Hons)?

 My decision to join in BSc(Hons) was influenced by ny parents, along with the lecturers from the School of  Science, who highly encouraged students to join in this course. Also, BSc(Hons) was potrayed as being  stepping stone towards the worl of research and hence, I was very interested in having a feel of what a  researcher's life could be like.

 2. Please describe your BSc(Hons) learning experience (please include comments on supervisor,  facilities and life on campus?

 I was very amazed by the whole set up of the course. For instance, my supervisor (Dr Choo Wee Sim) was  very helpful and guided me through my BSc(Hons) year with a lot of support and advice. I had a very  helpful seniors who were always there when needed and open to discussion. The Laboratory Management  staff were also welcoming and were always there to help as soon as possible, when prompted.

 3. What qualities did you acquire during your BSc(Hons)?

I have learnt to be very patience through my BSc(Hons). I have also gained time-management skills. I was also able to brush my presentation skills throughout my BSc(Hons) course.

4. Would you encourage other current students to enrol into BSc (Hons)? Why?

I would definitely encourages students to enrol in BSc(Hons) since this course actually helps in planning one's future regarding whether or not research is the right pathway to go towards.

 1. What/who influenced your decision in choosing BSc (Hons)?

 My parent and companion.

 2. Please describe your BSc (Hons) learning experience?

 It was a whole new learning experience as my honours years was more challenging than degree years. It  revolved around self discipline and time management. I have chosen supervisors I am comfortable working  with and more importantly they are very flexible and helpful. With regard to facilities, I was given to a  fully-furnished office for the entire year and I could not ask more.

 3. What qualities did you acquire during your BSc (Hons)?

 Independence and research skills.

 4. Would you encourage other current students to enrol into BSc (Hons)? Why?

Yes beacuse it exposes undergraduate to a whole new learning process. Prepares oneself for future undertakings. Great advantage for those keen in pursuing postgraduate studies.

 1. What/who influenced your decision in choosing BSc (Hons)?

 I have been highly influenced by my buddy who was also taking the same course as me. Also, the Honours  course will lead me to a brighter future and broader knowledge. Last but not least, I am very interested in  one of the topics listed for the course and I would like to know more about it. All of these have made me  to make my decision in taking the Honours course.

 2. Please describe your BSc (Hons) learning experience?

 My learning experience during the honours course was excellent! My supervisor (Dr Arkendu Sen) is great  and very helpful. He encouraged me to learn more about my field of study. Also, he always provide me  the best advice whenever I faced any obstacles during my research progress. The same goes to my co-  supervisor (Dr Ton). She helped me a lot in order to obtain permission to proceed with my research at  Sunway Medical Centre. My whole research will not be completed without their big hearts.

 3. What qualities did you acquire during your BSc (Hons)?

I have learnt a lot during the honours course and of course I have gained many qualities as well. I have learnt about time management, socializing with people, patience, confidence and many more. But the most priceless quality is that I have learnt how to deal with patients at the hospital (how to communicate with patients for surveys and qualitative questionnaires).

4. Would you encourage other current students to enrol into BSc (Hons)? Why?

Yes, of course. This honours course is a good experience for the students as they can be more independent and at the same time gain more knowledge beyond their learning process during their degree course.

 1. What/who influenced your decision in choosing BSc (Hons)?

 I did my BSc at Monash. So I knew it would be good experience to do my Honours here as well.

 2. Please describe your BSc (Hons) learning experience?

 Overall, it was good experience. My supervisor (Prof. Sadequr) taught and guided me well to achieve my  research objectives. I learned a lot of new skills and knowledge for the last one year. My Honours  Coordinator, Dr Mae helped and advised me throughout the Honours project. The facilities were good    enough but can be improved more.

 3. What qualities did you acquire during your BSc (Hons)?

 I have mastered appropriate molecular biology techniques, bioinformatic skills, presentation skills and  confidence in my project and myself.

4. Would you encourage other current students to enrol into BSc (Hons)? Why?

Yes, I would as it serves as basic training before venturing into the postgraduate world.
