Once again School of Science continued its partnership with BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd in organising the annual event, BASF Kids’ Lab for three consecutive years. This year marks the 150th anniversary of BASF and the partnership was extended to Petrosains and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. BASF, the world’s leading chemical company has designed BASF Kids’ Lab since 1997 and first launched in Germany. BASF Kids’ Lab is an interactive chemistry educational program for school children from 6 to 12 years old. More than 550 school children from six national primary schools in the Klang Valley, Persatuan Dyslexia Malaysia, the Hearing Impaired Association Kuala Lumpur, BASF’s media partners, the industry and also the general public attended this event.

The theme for this year is urban living where it aims to raise children’s awareness in waste water treatment and environmental chemistry through hands-on experiments.

This year’s program was held in Petrosains, The Discovery Centre, PETRONAS Twin Towers, Suria KLCC from 20 to 23 August 2015. Professor Sunil K. Lal and Dr Emily Goh represented School of Science at the launch of BASF Kids’ Lab 2015. Seven School of Science’s undergraduate students volunteered to lead and facilitate the hands-on experiments.
