To promote green chemistry, the main research interests focus on the development of novel solid catalyst or biocatalyst for various types of oleochemical reactions such as palm oil fatty acid. I am actively publishing my research in several high impact journals.
Recently, my research interests have extended to the wastewater treatment and production of biohydrogen from microbe. In the future, I would like to focus on the energy production from oleochemical perspective such palm oil, waste oil/waste cooking oil, and glycerol. The projects of my interest are listed below:
- Heterogeneous acid and/or enzyme catalyst for esterification of long chain fatty acid for medicinal and cosmetics purpose.
- Heterogeneous base, acid and/or enzyme catalyst for biodiesel production from palm oil and waste cooking oil.
- Solid catalyst for Gas-to-Liquids (GTL) and Fischer-Tropsch (Liquid fuel) from oleochemical product such as palm oil/waste oil/glycerol.
- Photocatalyst for dye or organic pollutant degradation from wastewater treatment by sunlight
- Biohydrogen production by using anaerobic microbe from wastewater.
